mallorca
The jewel in the Mediterranean, an island of high mountains,
intense terracing for olives, cultivated plains, orchards
of orange, lemon and almond trees. You will find enchanting
small villages unchanged by the passing of time, with many
parts of the island still remaining untouched by modern civilisation.
Breathtaking and wild scenery, tranquillity and peace, ancient
and historical buildings, blue seas and white sands, the
almond blossom in the spring, the summer flowers and the abundance
of rare birds all make up this magical place.
Mallorca is the place to visit and when you do, we feel confident
that like us you will return again. You can’t help
but fall in love with this island.
There are many spectacular fiestas and procession throughout
the year. Every small community has its own colourful spectacle,
usually in the summer months and being a strongly Christian
county there are wonderful, breathtaking processions at
most religious festivals, such as Christmas and Lent. Additionally,
the battle between the Moors and the victorious Christians
is re-enacted all over the island. Throughout the year
there
is always something of interest, if only to tour through
the ancient mountain villages, where time stands still
or to call
at one of the many old churches and admire the splendour
and architectural beauty. To stop and marvel at the majestic
and
wild scenery and its peace and tranquillity.
To wander through the streets of old Palma and admire the
beauty of its Gothic cathedral, reputedly the finest
example in the
world, to wonder at the window. There is much to see
and enjoy in Mallorca, there is something for everyone and
so much that
a lifetime spent on this beautiful island is not sufficient.
